I don't know what this green heron saw or heard, but whatever it was had his full attention!

I’ve shot a number of pictures of agitated Green Herons...they’re usually pretty skittish...but never got one so near to the subject. Very nice. Well done.

Great photo. Thanks. I can easily imagine how these beautiful and ferocious hunters had dinosaurs for ancestors.

Very nice. Have you experimented with noise reduction, either in raw or in 8-bit?

That's been my experience, too.

This time, I think he had forgotten about me in the heat of the moment...and flew CLOSER to me! Gave me a good eyeballing and then flew away.

Exactly! I'd hate to be the size of a minnow and be stalked by a heron. Love to watch them catch fish and frogs.

Me too! Glad you liked it. I hate to see them leave every year.

Blue Herons overwinter here in KY where I'm at, but I don't know if any greens do. Never seen one in the winter.

I've played around a bit with the NIK Define II and used to have Noise Ninja, on another earlier computer.

These days I primarily use Camera RAW and run the noise reduction sliders on that, if I think it needs it.
