Nice photos. That waterwheel appears to be made of plastic. It definitely is not original. It appears formed in one piece.

Note sure about that, but according to its web page, it is still in use today: http://www.wayside.org/history/grist-mill-1929-and-pepperidge-farm-1951-1967,

Close examination clearly shows where the fins are individually welded in place as well as the pitting from years of corrosion. Your seeing many coats of paint on an old metal wheel with the last being quite recent.

That's pretty much what I thought when I read about it before I went to the site. I wouldn't expect plastic fins to last very long.

Very nice! The first gives an opportunity to drill down to the finer details and the second shot puts it all in context. A lovely summery scene!
