Blue Angels at NAS Oceana

On Saturday I celebrated my son's birthday at the NAS Oceana airshow. He lives very close to this naval air station and hears the jets on a daily basis. His girlfriend was able to get us some VIP passes right on the flight line which made it extra special. I have recently purchased a Canon M50 mirrorless camera and felt this would be a great test for my new acquisition. Here are some photos of the Blue Angels performing.

I would love the chance... But I would have a rough time getting under the 235 lb. max weight..

Great shots, the camera appears to be up to the task. How lucky to get such great seats!

Thanks Jerry. I think that I would possibly like just one ride just for the experience. At least I'd do that before I'd bungee jump.

Thanks Randy. Yes, we felt very fortunate to be so close with the beer freely flowing. The camera did a good job but had some trouble with the autofocus picking up the planes and holding the focus. I was using a 55-200mm EF-M lens which gave me the equivalent of 320mm at the long end with the crop factor. Overall I am pleased with this little camera but it will never be able to replace my 5D Mark III.
