Well .., we stopped over at Ebbetts Pass in the middle of nowhere ..,while on the way to Yosemite.., My brother and I set up the tent .. firewood ..,..,and waited til dark .. I set up the camera in the middle of the pine trees .. took a few shots and was amazed at the number of stars ... the first shot is of the moon rising between the pine trees .. the second shot was looking upward ...
Later as the fire at the campsight .., the red glow from the fire reflected against the pine trees ... while the shot is over exposed and the stars moved making the blurry .. you get the idea of the look out in the middle of nowhere at 7,200 in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range ....
I’m back from Yosemite .., hold up in San Francisco .. I return Monday for 4 more nites in Yosemite with dare I say a bigger tent...
And Yes .., I hiked up to Artists Point with a Federal Ranger off duty who stood by while I shot and escorted me down with my Tripod and equipment way after dark ... those shots are going to be posted later ...sad the falls had stopped running ...
I have a gillion Shots to sort through and edit after this trip ...and I will post .. later ..

Dark and cold at this elevation. You endured and took a nice series of shots. Look forward to your Yosemite ones. Thanks for sharing.
Really beautiful, Dr. Bob!
