Hi hog people. I have just purchased Nikon P1000 . I edit in elements 15 but it will not accept NRW raw files from P1000. I downloaded elements 18 on 30 day trial but its the same problem. I then downloaded nikons "captureNX-D" and " viewNX-1"so can edit NRW files there, but cannot save these anywhere on my computer [27" iMac Sierra]I also have Sony RX-10 mk 111 from which I simply drag the raw file into elements, to easy. The question: is there any way I can get Nikon NRW files into elements ,2 how can I save capture NX-d files to computer? and people ask me why I drink so much!
thanks in advance for any advice, regards Laurie

Hi hog people. I have just purchased Nikon P1000 .... (show quote)

You will probably have to wait until Adobe updates Elements to accept the P1000.

Mac's is probably your best answer... and thus probably the only answer.
Sorry.

Unfortunately, it takes time for Adobe to update their programs to accept raw files from new cameras.

Your quickest solution is to use the Nikon program (probably came with your camera purchase) to convert the P1000 file to DNG.Then your Adobe program will probably recognize the file.

You can export the edited files from Nikon View / Capture as TIFF's or jpg's.

In Capture NX-D use “convert file” in the file menu. You can adjust the parameters to create a jpg, 8 bit tiff or 16 bit tiff. Elements will open any of those. It also does batch processing if you want to convert several files at once. NX-D does basic editing and is an excellent choice for developing Nikon raw files. Even though I have other software that will deal with Nikon raw files, I sometimes start out with NX-D just because it gives a better result in some cases.

I too have a P1000 and downloaded Capture NX-D so I could convert the photos to develop in PS CC however every time I use Capture NX-D it crashes and Nikon has been giving me the run around about why it crashes - by the way I use a Mac. In the end I ended up buying a program called ContentaConverter Premium which works fine but am looking forward to the day when Adobe adds P1000 to PS CC. Good luck.

If you have Photoshop, they will update their raw file list pretty soon to include the new camera--but raw or no,what do you think of the image quality, especially at zoomed out ranges???

If you are on a tripod they aren't too bad - I have gotten some quite good shots (I did post some photos on UHH but it was in a different discussion group). You definitely need to be on a tripod if you are going to extend the lens out fully but overall I am quite surprised by the camera and it does get you amazingly close to your subject.

Sierra is the operating system that he is currently running. OS 12 is not available. Still a Mac

That was referring to the answer by the user named Mac.
