I'm new to the forum. Just retired and want to grow in my use of the Nikon fur frame camera with the holy trinity of lenses. I needed to subscribe to Photoshop as my new MacBook Pro OS doesn't support PS CS4. I signed up for Adobe Lightroom CC and Photoshop in the Photography Plan Classic, which has limited iCloud space. I accidentally exported my entire photo library (44k+) and can't figure out how to disconnect from most of those. Adobe wants me to upgrade to their 50G cloud. But I want to use the cloud only for my present work. Thanks, Greg
Go back to the Adobe Creative Cloud app, and install Lightroom CLASSIC CC, which uses local storage predominantly, and the cloud when you want to sync with a mobile device.
Thanks so much. Should I delete Lightroom CC?

In my opinion, no. There is (to me) a lot of difference between the two. I find I can do some things easier and faster in in CC than I can in Classic. I like the local filing of Classic, so I avoid using CC unless I want to send it to the cloud as I process.

Greg, I kept Lightroom CC because it is a decent program for my cell phones and pads. Lightroom CC Classic is more full functioned and better for your desktop/laptop computers that have a mouse. The newer Lightroom CC doesn't have the sliders etc. and you have less choices/control.. IT is fine for the cellphone and tablets because it is (for lack of a better description) more general. It is harder to adjust specific spots, etc. with it but it does do more general adjustments. Or maybe my phone is too small for my fingers to manipulate.. but the Lightroom CC Classic is my general go to and the other gets used on the phones. Your mileage may vary but this works for me... oh and just to be honest, unlike my wife who loves to take cellphone photos, I almost never do... I prefer the camera. But she has said the same things about Lightroom CC and Lightroom CC Classic.
Thanks so much. I am totally new to LR and the Ugly Hedgehog, so this is very helpful. The Ugly Hedgehog is beautiful. I have an iPhone SE and I'm amazed at the quality of shots I can get on the run. I just learned how to transfer them to my Mac via Image Capture. But, I, like you, like to get the heavy equipment out. Just did a photoshoot in the White Mts. In the summer you can take the gondolas to the top of Wildcat and the Stage Coach van up Mt Washington. I wouldn't want to climb these Mts with heavy equipment.
Thanks, this helped me with some of my phones images and where LR CC stores them on my PC's hard drive.

I assume you mean that you exported your photo library to the Adobe cloud. If you want to change what is held in the cloud, rather than paying for additional space, Adobe support should be able to help sort it out.
As others have said, you want to use LR Classic CC for your everyday desktop/laptop editing. It is the new, updated, equivalent of the old LR, just renamed. The new LR CC is an "incomplete" version for mobile devices. I have the subscription and have not even launched the LR CC - Only LR Classic CC and PS CC. That is my preference, since I don't edit anywhere except on my computer, and it also ensures that I won't confuse the two!
Susan, with just 2 days on this forum I have found amazing help. I waited on hold with Adobe for half an hour and then got cut off, so I'll do it digitally. Thanks.

Were you on the phone? I prefer the online chat. Yes, there are often wait times, but getting cut off is not so frequent. Best thing is to try again, perhaps at an odd time of day when they won't be so busy. And you can do something while waiting!
