Challenge: Cropping your image for better composition-Sept. 20-22, 2018
Although planning a good composition while preparing to take a photo is a great thing to do, sometimes there are obsticals that can't be
avoided...I came accross a practical article-again in digital photo school that covers the subject quite well. Hope it will help you also!

photo taken at the Brimfield Fair-difficult to frame with so much going on!

Cropped to concentrate on figure and added a vignette to lessen distraction.

Good one.
That old saying, "Shoot for the crop".
Didn't like the bumper on the lower left

Yes, had to look twice to see it but isn't it great to extract distractions!
I took these two during our Christmas holiday in Edinburgh. The first one of David Hume was pretty junky until the extraneous stuff was cropped out. I was trying to shoot the painted Celt from across the street with people constantly walking into the frame. Cropping made for a much more interesting picture.

Sometimes I'll crop because it had to be there so as to capture what I wanted. Also gives me a chance to move the subject over to the side or corner. Also a poor man's crop..a vignette LOL

Ahhh, the bumper! It took a few seconds to see it but it's good to have it gone.
Taken in Seattle. Cropped to rid distractions and to put attention where I wanted it to be.

Not just the cropping, but the general PP made this a really nice image.
