Green Heron with a frog

I thought that the green herons might have left from our area in KY for this year, but I saw this one at the end of last week. The site was McConnell Springs, a beautiful, and historic, walking trail park surrounded by an industrial section of Lexington, KY.

Very cool captures, bluezzzzz! Love how in the 2nd pic it looks like the frog is jumping right into the heron's waiting mouth! lol

Yep, you are right. I hesitated to post that one but still wanted to share that moment when they flip their catch and position it how they want to swallow it.

I've successfully frozen that flip with blue herons, but greens are even faster, and I should have used a faster shutter speed than 1/250th.
