Being that I am an artist first and a photographer second I love taking my photos and tweaking them in artistic ways. I know this image will not be everyone's "cup of tea" but perhaps there will be other UHH members that will appreciate it. Each individual has the right to love it or hate it!
Please download this one for best detail.

What's not to like? It's pretty cool, in a California sort of way.

Kind of Andy Warhol-ish. I like a lot of what you do, especially your surfing pics. This is pretty cool too. I like it. Very creative.

I am generally not into artsy kinds of photography, but I like this one.

If someone "hates" it, they do not try to see it from the artist-photographer's view.

A long time ago, one of the most difficult models I had the displeasure of drawing in a life-art class was a yoga instructor who assumed positions that made me focus on the still life on the teacher's table. I think this has colored my view towards yoga influenced poses. But that is my "cross" to bear.

The first thought as I viewed the shot was that I was seeing a mock-up sheet for a potential stamp presentation. It is well done in construction. But it does little for me beyond that. I can't say what I would do different. But there are many to whom this shot will "speak" more.

Jaymatt, if that is how you feel, then the crossover is a great compliment to this image from you! Thanks so much!

Stephan, it's to bad you had that early "yoga instructor" bad experience. I know it sometimes takes a very long time to get over something like that. It sounds like you are now over it though and that is a good thing! You can move on!

After that last position?! It is a wonder that *I* can move at all! (Just kidding.)

I have learned a long time ago that there will always be something I can't do. I leave those to who can do it. Too many things to try and not enough time.

Stephan, I have found out that with age, we seem to start scratching off activities that we once did and enjoyed.

I just wrote a long discussion of why I like your art and what I saw in it. Too bad but it disappeared when I tried to post it. And now I'm out of time and can't re-post. I did want to comment that I find it odd that so many here on the Hog who are interested in the art of photography seem to reject other forms of art. Their loss, I think. There's so much to explore and appreciate in other forms of art even if it's not something you love. You can always learn something new. Really like your image. Post some more, Brent.

It's a very fine illustration, and in commercial use
I see no problem. Commercial use tends toward a
fast viewing and the need to compete for viewer's
attention. If intended for longer viewing, maybe
as a poster displayed in a home rather than in a
busy place of commerce, the only thing that keeps
bothering me is the profile of the face on the right.
Perhaps it's just how the purple outline interacts
with the profile [skims too close near the nose ?]

Again, I do think this is a commercial illustration,
and for that purpose nothing needs fixing.
