I stood up and saluted the flag...thankfully, there weren't any NFL officials around.
When I began watching sports over 50 years ago, I was constantly amazed and disgusted that player AND fans couldn't stand still for the 2 minutes that it took for the national anthem. It isn't just the players. Watch those around you the next time you attend an event where our National Anthem is played. You don't need to worship the flag, but you certainly should show respect for what it stands for.

I don’t go to many games any more but I agree. Is it really too much trouble to take your hat off and stand still for a few minutes?
And while I think about it, how about a👎 for the performers who make it all about them. Sing it like it was written!
I’ll go have that second cup now😊

That's OK, I didn't make a connection when it was posted. Still trying to figure out what the photo and caption is all about. I figure it's about the NFL anthem scandal.
The NFL would call it a UFO (Little movie trivia in there)

Great shot, reminds me of the freedom of speech that all have fought to preserve..…………………………………………….
Great photo and composition.
This might sound like a confession. I once went to a football game close to Veteran's Day. I perused through the booklet you get and it mentioned this eagle that shows up at different events. It did not specifically state that it would be at this game. Nevertheless, I had my 300mm at high speed setting ready, just in case something happened. The national anthem starts and I stood hat in chest like everyone did. Everyone but the TV crew. I guess they are exempt. In any case, on the last third of the anthem there comes the eagle from high above, flying all the way down to the field diagonally opposite, where I was standing. I raised my camera and fired about 30 frames in three seconds. Sure, others raised their cell phone and took photos/videos as well.
Since that day, I asked myself whether I should have stood motionless or if I did the right thing. The photos turned out allright. But being a photog, and the fact that not everyone stood still, I went ahead and shot.
Well, I guess you...and everyone else...has the right to respond to the activity as you see fit.
