Filters and presets, sources for plug ins, maybe some explanation of why and for what effects you might want to adjust the tonal and sharpening controls, and in what order?
You might become the new Victoria Bampton. You can be the LightRoom King!

It would be Queen as well and I think I'll pass on that. She does it for income and I provide information online for free. Maybe I'll do a cheat sheet for the three main modules.

How about reading the online Adobe LR manual. At the top of the program, under the very obvious term "help." The LR manual will give you all of the basics of the program. How can you "hate" something you don't even know how to use? Read up specifically on the Library Module. All programs take time to learn.
People have become lazy and/or impatient. I've seen this problem especially with generation Xers. Folks expect to jump into an app like jumping into a car....just drive (even cars have manuals for reference at least). But most software is more complex than that and requires a bit of time to get familiar especially without using a help reference. I once made a 5 page "cheat sheet" for a cloud based app....a gen X coworker told me they wouldn't read it....imagine only 5 pages maybe 10 minutes perhaps in very simple language.
Btw there are those quick reference cards they publish for apps they should have one for LR and other Adobe apps. They are usually 4 to 6 laminated pages for a quick overview. LR is one of the easier Adobe apps to learn....quite intuitive IMHO.

Sorry π for that assumption! If you donβt want to be a monarch, you should still be royalty for doing this public service!

Anyone have a suggestion of a good program ?
Victoria Brampton has free Lightroom Quickstart ebooks. See
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/quickstart/ You can choose the one for the Lightroom version you are using.

Thanks, you just gave me a great idea about LR. I have a website, viathelens.net, but a "get started" quick users guide would be useful.
It's been done, and very well.

Her manual is excellent but I think Connie is talking about something a little different. I think itβs a good idea.

As gets mentioned many times, a lot of things are like a lot of other things.
I could talk to you all weekend about how to play the piano. Work that new DSLR. Do Lightroom.
But if the fingers ain't working you ain't learning.
Talk to a bodybuilder- he can point and say "You want those hammys? 500 hours."
The Beatles explained their "overnight success" was a result from 12,000 hours playing in clubs.
50 years ago I was a pro horn player. AFTER I got "good"? An hour a day practice. Gig or no.
You take photos? I have for >60 years , and a 20% cull is still a pretty good shoot for me!
Don't take mistakes or failures personally, Keep the originals safely backed up, and go play.

Shoot, that's good. I probably cull 50% sometimes, and more later.

A year later...
Did you get any solution to your frustrations?
What did you want to do with LR?
Take a look at Affinity Photo, Designer, and Publisher... I have all three packages and will begin to use them all more actively soon... completely owning them for just a bit more than a one year subscription to Adobe products... each program is simply $50 to own them outright.
Their functionality is much easier to own and operate than Adobe's over-priced stuff...
I was a daily user of Adobe PS, and have moved on without looking back.
