Hi Everyone: I have several current Nikon DSLRs and lens and have been caught up in all talk lately about the new mirror less cameras. Then I realized I have a Fuji FinePix S9450W, which I bought years ago refurbished for only $150 and realized that it too is a mirror less. So I started to play with it after sitting in my closet for two years and found it to be fun. It has a wonderful long lens and makes no noise when you take a picture. It has all kinds of features and will do a whole lot of cool but useless things. HOWEVER it has a point and shoot sensor. So my question is, in general, unless I enlarge larger than 8X10, will I notice a big, not slight, difference in my photos. I realize that it will not focus or expose as well as the $5000 new models coming out from Canon and Nikon, but this thing is mirror less and cost me next to nothing. Can I be happy with this mirror less? Bob
You're already happy it seems.
That's more like a bridge camera than a mirrorless as it doesn't allow one to change lenses...
You should be fine enlarging to 8x10, 11x14 and, depending on how stable your hands are, 16x20.
Enjoy your rediscovered camera!

I have an old Fujifilm FinePix HS35EXR. It's 16MP and 1/2.3 sensor. I still get it out and play with it once in a while. It does okay in low light if I use the EXR mode for high ISO low noise, but I only get 8MP images in this mode. As long as I don't crop much or enlarge very big, I'm happy with the results. Back in 2013 when I bought it, it was considered to be a good camera. But with only a 24-720mm zoom lens, it's nothing special today. There are much better super zooms available now. It wasn't all that cheap, but it is mirrorless.
All of the point & shoot & Bridge cameras are mirrorless but none have interchangeable lenses which is a selling feature of current mirrorless cameras.
I also have several Nikon dslr's and to get more reach bought a used Nikon 1 J1 for $80 on ebay. This was Nikon's first mirrorless camera and with a $250 Nikon FT-1 adapter it will single point autofocus with any Nikon lens that has a focus motor in the lens. It has the 1" CX sensor. With the 2.7x crop factor, at 300mm (equivalent focal length of 810mm) it out performs my Nikon D7000 with the 55-300 AFS VR lens.
I'm presently using a Coolpix B700 super zoom. Although the B700 4K video is excellent, the jury is still out on shooting still pix of small birds at a distance of 50 to 75 ft., even though the 1440 mm equivalent focal length beats the J1 810mm equivalent focal length. The smaller sensor size of the B700 is easily beat by the CX sensor in terms of EQ and color rendition. I have yet to get a bird pic with the B700, even at a reduced focal length of 1200mm, that I can crop to full resolution that is as good as what the J1 has produced at 810mm.

If properly shot, and no extreme cropping is needed,16X20 or even 20X24 should be possible. 11X14s should be easy to do even if you have to crop a little. There was a time I had to shoot with my wife's Olympus XZ-1 to finish a job for her. Most of the shots could have been printed to 11X14 with no problems. Can you be happy with the images from the Fuji FinePix S9450W? That is going to depend on how well you shoot and what are your requirements and expectations in the print.

The image of you sitting in you sitting in your closet for two years is priceless. Only you can know if your camera makes you happy. Perhaps another two years in the closet to ponder that question? (Perhaps you should re-label this post from "Cheap Mirrorless" to "Cheap Shots." Cheers!)

"Can I be happy with this mirrorless"? Only you can answer that. Even if you find out that is not the case and you spend the 5K will a new camera improve your photography??
my pentax WPIO with 6mp made very sharp 11x14...
About 14 years ago I bought a Casio Exilim EX-Z40.
A 4MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom.
It was sort of like a mini point-and-shoot camera. I used it
for about five years. I had drifted away from my lifelong
interest in photography.
Believe it or not I got some great shots with this primitive 4MP
camera and made good-looking 5x7 prints.
I still have the camera, but the battery now loses its charge very quickly.
I just popped its SD card (2GB) into my 77d; amazing, I checked some
histograms. They all looked great, and all my shooting with the Casio
was in full Auto.
I bought the Casio Exilim camera from Amazon in December 2004
for $249. Now it's just a collector's item.

Sorry - permission denied! Spend more money. Then you can be happy.
I'd be more focused on "camera," rather than "mirrorless."
