I'm having troubles grasping a concept that maybe someone here can shed some light on (pun intended)
Lets say I'm taking a 30 sec timed exposure of the night stars. And I Flash my Studio Strobe at 1/2 power to illuminate some subject in the foreground. We'll call the foreground trees and shrubs. I know how this will turn out, and it would usually be the effect I want. But here's the grey part to me...…. What if I flash my strobe 4 times during that 30 sec timed exposure, are the flashes cumulative in effect, or would I basically have the same exposure as flashing it only once.
It will be cumulative, the more photons you put on any subject during the exposure the brighter it will be.

Wow, that wasnt what I expected. I dont doubt you, I just wasnt aware of that. I Suppose that it would also translate to having 3 or 4 strobes at the same power would ALSO have a cumulative effect over just one strobe.
Thanks for the response.
