Spent a couple of days in RMNP just for a break and the the scenery was spectacular even though they're in a severe drought. Colors are starting to turn the bright yellows and reds and yet many of those trees will be stressed due to lack of water and colors won't be as brilliant. The Pine Bark Beetle is still wreaking havoc with the pines. However it was still special as it always is. Florida is at or near seal level and at ~12,000' I sure could have used a little oxygen...gasp...
The Elk rut was just starting the the Elk are bugling morning to evening.
The top of the world photo, #2, shows a beautiful day and in less than 2 hours after that photo was taken the top of RMNP (Alpine Center) was closed to through traffic due to excessive sleet, ice and a couple of fender benders for about 3 hours, the weather changed that fast. Just had to take a picture of the Colorado Capitol just because I was there. Anyway hope you enjoy these few photos, comments are always welcome
