Hello Mimi, Do not separate yourself from that Canon 40D. Some might think that a 10.1 megapixel sensor might not be enough. I began, many years ago, with a 20D with only 9mp, but with the help of Perfect Resize, I've made a number of 11x14 prints that have turned out beautiful.

Hi,
I still plan to use my Canon. Realized that the two lenses I really wanted cost considerably more than the P900! Being semi retired I watch my pennies. The P900 is very light, I broke my shoulder two years ago, it still aches, I couldn’t lift the Canon before my shoulder healed and it can still bother me.

Welcome aboard.
Now that the bones are healed, try a massage therapist. They can be amazing at getting the muscles back to doing what they are supposed to be doing.
