I do okay with landscapes and wildlife photography, but this is a first. Experimenting with my friend in more of a discrete vs creative image. I know what I want to create realizing there’s much to learn. Be kind 🙂

Brian, Welcome to the forum. Your image reminds me of my darkroom days to achieve that same effect we called solarization.. I think it is create. The picture on the wall distracts from the beauty of the breast image.

Interesting. I like where you are going with it.

It is good that you are experimenting, Brian M...your efforts have not gone bad. Your partial solarization came off nicely. I do like it. But as another hogger said, the picture is competing with the subject. But otherwise, well done.
Rich...

I agree with everything said--I saw the picture first. Nice beginning, though.

A picture of a breast-but not a good one--picture I mean.
The breast is fine.

Wsh you had set for download - the image is too tall to fit on my screen - makes it hard to conceptualize the entire image. Do think I like it.

She looks pretty good but you have a lot of work to do. Keep practicing and posting

Thanks for sharing.
Agree that picture distracts and does not add to image.
Somewhat troubled by the angle of the wall edge.
Might feel different without the picture.

Thanks for sharing. Keep shooting.

Yup. Everybody starts someplace. I still don’t have a model! (Yes, I know about the online sites but in my career I have to pay attention to appearances, no pun intended.)

Thank you for the feedback. I probably should have mentioned our intent is to experiment, for own enjoyment, the human body. I have no interest in getting into Portrait photography. My subject is my partner and the goal is to work on discrete images taken in our home in daily life. The first post was of her while we were getting ready to go out. She’s not and neither am I, looking to do “posed” shots. There are plenty of people that have the tools to a much better job than I. And, because she has her own business, full on unaltered images are not part of what we’d do. If I had an intent it would be to leave a little to the imagination of the viewer. We’re just having fun and would be interested in feedback of what works and what does not. Thanks!

I can’t say I disagree with you, however, please read my follow up message. It would have been helpful on my part to explain our photographic intentions beforehand on the first image. As we post additional images, maybe that will make better sense of what we are trying to do.

My comment was only about the image you posted--and the breast. I knew nothing about your "photographic intentions".
Having read you subsequent explanation, I wish you well, keep shooting--and I hope you post additional images.
