Recently retired and have picked up photography as a hobby and as a sedative from the every day grind. Have been enjoying the reads in your forum. My interest are sports as I have an athlete for a son.
Here is one of my favorite photos from a swim championship. Some days I like my photos and other day I am quick to delete. I would love to get better at using manual mode but there days I donât want to take a chance at missing memories.

Welcome to UHH, BlueSkies. We have all been in your shoes once or twice, or even more times as far as some days liking and others hating what we do. That means you are learning. I would suggest you use auto for your son's meets, and use manual all other time till you feel comfortable using it for the athletics.
You will also find that asking questions here will bring you many answers. Look at others work. Give comments, make friends, find out more about them by chat chatting with them. But above all, have fun.

Welcome to the Hog, enjoy.
I recently took a 2 day course from a Canon rep. where I got to try out some of their lenses. I would like to post other photos for evaluations and critiques, but how do I do that. The only optios that I see are “Quick Reply and Send”.
