I can't remember anything because of the concussion I got when I fell into the open manhole after jumping (without looking) out of the way of the bus that was honking at me because I had stepped into the street in front of it to avoid the crowd that had gathered because the crossing light that I didn't see said "No Crossing" because I had my head in my phone (I think).
I almost believe you.
I have seen news fillers about "texters" walking into people, buildings, traffic, onto train tracks, open manholes and trenches, fountains ponds etc. I have a vague memory of seeing a shot of someone with a phone in each hand while walking down a crowded sidewalk. The guy was talking on one and reading/texting on the other.

The research may apply only to short term memory (which is what mobile phone users seem to have). I can pick up one of my photos from 20,30 40,50 or 60 years ago and tell where, why, which Camera (from over 30) and who was with me when I took the photo.
I just can't remember what I had for dinner yesterday.
Just looked a photos fro earlier this year and it seems my memery is still working well.
I think the factor is how much you are interested in what you are doing.

And at that time, you probably had less stuff rolling around in your mind and the memories were more important. I find the same thing now with old pictures of my wife and I on vacation. When I look at our photo albums from years ago, I can recall the places we visited, restaurants and the meals from Charleston and Savannah, just like it was yesterday. I can still taste that muffellata (? sp) from the New Orleans Grocery Store 15 years ago. But I can't remember what we did on our last vacation a month ago......

We get magazine called Bottom Line. What do you think about the small article...taking a photo undermines your memory ? My wife suggested I take too many photos.
Look at the source. Its nonsense.
