Hedgehog garden lawn display.

Seen at Fred Meyers garden display area was a statue of three Hedgehogs one standing on the back of the bottom one and then one on top of that one. Large on the bottom, medium on next and small on the top.
Although tempted to make a purchase, I did not purchase one. If I had I would have photographed it for a three dimensional photo display.

Of course you could go back and photograph it for free. Where’s the love for fellow hedge hoggers?

I'd think a long time before I would consider getting thrown out of the store. I can just see taking the item down from a shelf and trying to find a background to set it at. That would be the time the store security officer would show up. I don't think they would like my answer that I was doing it for the love of my fellow hedge hoggers.

I have, on many occasions, asked to photograph something in order to take the photos home to see if my wife likes it. Why would the store care about a photograph of one of their products. If you were setting up light stands, backdrops and a camera on a tripod to take the shot, I could understand a problem. But that isn’t what is being discussed.

If you have a Fred Meyers in your area perhaps you could see if your wife would like to have them. Take a photo of them home to the wife.

The Fred Meyers I frequent is in Idaho. My wife is usually in California. I travel a lot.

This was not meant to be a pissing contest. I simply suggested that most stores have no problem with a customer taking a photo of their wares. If you choose not to do that, that is your decision.
