MikeBl Loc: USA

American bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus)
W. Kentucky, USA - 8/8/2018
1/200 sec - f/8.0 - ISO 800

Interesting Tidbit: The baritone call of the bullfrog is so deep and resonant, it resembles
the mooing of a cow, hence its name. Females do not vocalize. A female bullfrog can lay
as many as 20,000 eggs, which float in a clump on the surface of the water. ~nationalgeographic~

Very nice, Mike. They are tasty items on a seafood menu, also.

Excellent image, MikeB, and love to listen to them at night, but unfortunately, we have passed the lovemaking season and they are very quiet during the nighttime!

Here in the mid south (W. Kentucky) I do still hear them at daybreak when I am out.
