Trying to find out how to put a copy program on a Stick to find all photos found on your computer (Mac) that automatically searches your computer. I have thousands of photos on my Mac and want to put them in one place on a stick.

All help appreciated.

Thanks,

Stan

I'm sure someone here has a solution, but be aware that any generalized search of the entire drive of your computer will pull up thousands and thousands of image files that are parts of the programs on your computer... Jpegs in training sections, Gifs, PNGs and others.

Very laborious. every program on your computer has scores of image files that are part of the pages of the programs. All the web pages have scores of image files embedded in the HTML coding in the system and programs.

It doesn't do what it advertises to do:

Primarily - it doesnl't do folders.

You can use Xcopy or Robocopy to Backup anything any where.

A USB memory stick is too fragile to trust for any type of long term storage.

That being said, are your photos jpegs, tiffs, whats?

Just do a search in Finder for *.JPG (example) and drag them to the storage device.

I wouldn't want to rely on a flash drive for photo backup, but if I wanted to copy images to one, I would simply search for them and drag them onto the drive.

,

I have all my photos are stored on a separate hard drive and also on three other external drives. On my Window PC my photographs are all found the "Pictures" folder by date so it's a very simple process to transfer the lot to any suitable storage although it can take a long time. The best method is to set the transfer going and go and do something else for a few hours.
