Beautiful aircraft. The second and third shots really bang out to show striking aircraft configurations. The coloration flatters the subjects. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you djtravels! In Chicago, where our airshow occurs this weekend, the planes fly-in from an airport in northern Indiana. So, there's no groundshot aspect to the event, just the performances. For me, that was the biggest difference in all the planes to see up close. It was a lot of fun with nearly perfect weather every day.

Thank you anotherview! I spent the first day in the area of the vintage aircraft, talking with pilots and viewing and photographing the planes. The many different colors of many of the same models next to each other was amazing. Glad you enjoyed.
What a great day that must have been. These images are beautiful.

The images are sized to fill your wide-screen display. Try using <F11> to maximize your browser window for the full effect. If the images overshoot your display, such as a laptop, just click on the image or the URL link and they'll resize to your screen from the host Flickr site. You can click a bit further into the image details on the Flickr page, if desired. EXIF data is available from the host Flickr pages as well. On the Flickr site, use your <L>key for Large and the <F11> for the full-screen.

Paul, excellent set and the float plane is great. The man setting up camp next to his plane makes me just a little bit
.

Thank you Marty! It would have been quite a day if these had all happened together, but these images cover different days running from Tuesday to Saturday of the Mon-Sun week-long event. Glad you enjoyed.

Thank you Greg! He was packing up to fly to Dallas, if I remember his destination. There was going to be weather on his route the next few days so he was heading out early. I was sleeping out in the general campgrounds in a backpacking tent when a 3/4 blow-up mat. I asked to capture his image, and another more inside the tent, given the size of that blow-up mattress and the tent over all. I found from other's photos there was a different area with just float planes in their own little pool party that I did not see in person. I caught this float plane by luck where I happened to be near the runway while it prepared to take off.
