Hi, I am Chez from Australia.
I feel very inadequate reading all the other introductions as they are so much more knowledgeable than I am already.
I do not know much about photography but I am keen to learn.
Welcome to the group, most people are very helpful in this forum.
We all started where you are, presuming you are just getting into photography. Difference being some of us started in the 1960's. We took it up, we put it down. Some went to school for it, some learned by trial and error. Some just committed themselves to it. Some became blocked for times, and then had breakthroughs and moved on.
There is nothing simple about it, and very few naturals exist. If in fact, there is such a thing as a natural in either vision or the gear. It's a vast accumulation of unnatural knowledge for many.
Time and commitment, And Money for many. Look into schools if career is a motivation. Join photography clubs. You will learn bits and pieces on these forums. There are many of those. This is not the only one. Some click and some don't. I visit 3 or 4 on a regular basis. Some are camera make and model oriented, while others are very generalized.
We are not the key. You and your commitment are. Pretty simple really for a complex subject!
Welcome to our forum!
Just enjoy it and take it step-by-step. Start shooting in Auto and have fun with it.
Thank you. I appreciate your comments.
Welcome from another Aussie.
Welcome to the forum.
Remember, we all started with little or no knowledge of the subject.
Welcome. Have fun. Learn, practice and have fun while doing it.
Thanks, everyone, for the warm welcomes.

Welcome to the forum. Shoot post and have fun.
Welcome! Start slow and post often. Ask lots of questions, you’ll get good advice here. Post your shots and we can give suggestions. I’ve learned a lot on here. Again, welcome! Lots of fun ahead!

Hi Chez,
Welcome to UHH. You are in the right place. NOW that, that is over, PLEASE do NOT ever put yourself down. You have taken the first and most important step...You are here. None of us knew much about photography when we first started, but we learned. How did we learn? We studied other photographers work, we read books, we took classes, we joined other photographic groups, and, we asked questions. Believe me, you will become knowledgable too! I am sure you have seen some of the questions that hoggers ask. Make some friends here. And, if you feel you have a question to ask, and you don't want to get many answers, you can always private message anyone here. But above all, this could be a very enriching hobby, but there is one prerequisite... which is: You must have fun!!!
Tell more about yourself, and post some of the pictures you have already taken.
Rich...
Welcome to the Hog Chez, enjoy.
