I was taking photos of a Heron and Egret in the lagoon at the Chicago Botanic Garden when this Bald Eagle showed up. I had no time to change any settings.

That's my question, as well. You're shooting large birds in flight, it doesn't matter what kind they are. Absolutely beautiful picture !

With this camera/lens combination I would normally use a shutter speed of 1/1200 to 1/1500 sec and also would have to increase the ISO.

And we here all those out there that you can't get good images with Tc's. Looks pretty darn good to me. Nicely done.
