In the state of Georgia. This is a roadside attraction in north Georgia. They sell gifts and have.....goats on the roof. You can feed the goats by riding a bicycle that powers an elevator that takes the food to the roof.

Come to Door County in Wisconsin and see goats on a roof.

Thanks for the info. I tried to find which one was started first, but can’t find a start date for the one in Georgia. After I posted I found that there is a Goats On The Roof in The Smokies too.

There are locations in Europe that have sod roofs where goats are the preferred method of mowing the roof.

1973 for Door County. Call the place in Georgia and ask them how long they have been doing the goats on the roof. It appears to be a great tourist attraction. That is why I went. Something different.

I called and spoke to the owner of the place in Georgia. They opened in 2007. She was familiar with the place in Wisconsin....saying they were the original in the USA for doing this. She also told me about a place in Coombs, Canada that has goats on the roof. I looked them up. They have an Old Country Market, in British Columbia. They started using goats to mow their roof 30-40 years ago, depending on when the article was written. So, now we both know more than we did about goats on the roof.

Thanks for your response. I think if I ever get a sod roof, I will also get some goats.

Interesting. Those critters will climb just about anywhere, given the chance.
