Haven't posted here in a while so thought I'd show the base or -0- image and the resulting 3 images combined and processed. The dynamic range of the a7R3 is so good that the base or -0- image could have come very close to the 3 image bracket. Notice I said close, as dynamic range will ALWAYS be increased by combining 1-2 stop variance images, 3 or more.

Just LR as I was only after dynamic range and not any HDR special effects.

Nice job. Did you consider a graduated filter up from the bottom to the tree line to open up shadows and reveal hidden details? If you did a bracketed 2 or 3 image series, they're in there.

Thanks and no, the graduated filter in today's software is more effective and controllable than actual filters and I find no need for them. The shadows in the foreground are recoverable even in the single -0- image. I actually reduced shadows a bit in the foreground to give it more 'weight' to not distract from the top 2/3rds of the image.

Nice edit! I agree with you, the Base image is pretty close.

Nice job. This is what I much prefer in HDR as opposed to the phony plastic look that is so frequently done in the name of HDR.
I didn't understand the use of -2 Exposure Compensation?

I think you're looking a 1-2 which meant one to two......

The exif data for the photo says the camera was set to "-2 Exposure Compensation"

Ahhh, I see what you mean. The darker first image posted was the first of 3 bracketed images with each being 2 stops apart so the exif would show -2 which is the 1st of the 3 bracketed images....... 1 at -2, 1 at -0- and the last at +2.
