Does anyone know a good black and white film service???? I am getting very disappointed in the service I am currently using.

Cheap and they do good work just like in the old days. They still print the old fashioned way.
But I have to ask...why not do it yourself? It's so cheap and easy.
A tank, 1 reel, and 15 minutes of your time.
The chems are cheap; a bottle of HC110 will last you YEARS and a bottle of rapid fix is only about $14.00 and that will last quite a long time.

I process my own 35mm and 4x5" Film. When I shoot film, which today is rare.

They sure do. I had a number of colored filters for all my B&W film back in the 1960s. I did all my own film developing and printing. The dark red was great for deep blue sky and puffy white clouds.

I'd suggest you process your b&w film. The cost for Paterson tanks and reels is very reasonable and the chemistry is also inexpensive and you'll save money in the long run and far more important is you are in control, and what the heck it's fun!

I agree with 90% but not the "years" part.
I have kept HC110 and Rodinal for years and, although they continued to do the job, there was eventually some change in performance. Last year I found some crystal precipitation in my bottle of Rodinal so I decided to replace both concentrates. The fresh developers now produce cleaner negatives.
So, even though they may work for years after they have become dark and nasty looking, I recommend writing a date on the bottle when you first get them and replacing them after two or three years. It's cheap insurance.
