I am looking for a walk around FX lens to complement my Nikon 85 1.8, 50 1.4, Nikon 20-35 2.8 lenses. I had a Nikon 28-300 for my Nikon D800 and thought the lens was soft and heavy.
My plans are to purchase a Tamron 150-600 Sport or a Nikon 200-500. I am now looking at a lens to fill in. My thoughts are 70-300 VR FX lens.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Nikkor AF-S FX 24 - 120mm f/4 VR
I recently started using a Tamron 28-300 on my FX. It is surprisingly sharp and it is light weight and the price was very good.
The Nikon 24-120 is on my D800. The 70-300 is also a great carry lense.
Seems that if you thought the 28-300 was heavy, but you are considering the 150-600 sport, not sure I understand that one. Nikon 24-120, 24-85 are a couple of good lens, I have both. My main lens is either the 24-70 or the 70-200. I just recently purchased the Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2 lens, could not be happier. Nikon is $2800, Tamron is $1300. If your a semi pro, you can't beat the Tamron for the money. They also make a killer 24-70
