You can get the Avortistan (?) substitute for a whole lot less than Walgreens.

Crestor local pharmacy.... one month 60 pills $600, my doc gets them from that little pharmacy in South Dakota Zero, Zip, Nada, no invoices now for two years. Actual Crestor. They ship them to me 6 bottles in a grey plastic bag... no invoice ever. Each bottle of 60,,, worth $600 or $3600 value for the whole bag.

I changed my diet to control cholestoral, don't need the Crestor. Selling them for $7200 per year. Crestor branded.

Something is clearly wrong with drug pricing in the US. I can purchase exactly the same drug, from the same pharmacy, for about 10% of the cost using GoodRX (and both the drugstore and GoodRX are for-profit corporations). How is that possible? And while I’m at it, why has congress passed a law preventing Medicare (one of the largest payers for drugs in the US) from negotiating drug prices in the same way any insurance company is allowed to?

I was taking Atorvastatin. After some time every muscle in my body ached, regardless of what I was doing, and I hardly could walk out to my mailbox and back without being tired out. My cardiologist allowed me to stop (I had not had a cholesterol problem, anyway, but it had been prescribed by a previous cardiologist), and within a week I was back to normal! Statin drugs will KILL you - and are known to cause diabetes!!! Their ONLY benefit is to the bottom line of the pharmaceutical companies!!!

I was assisted one day at a local CVS. After a brief chat with the gentleman, he told me he was the manager of a very busy Walgreens here in St. Louis. He left Walgreens because, in his words, "they are all about profits", while, still his words "here at CVS, it's all about customer service".

Where would corporations be without profits? It is the profits that pays salaries in addition to matching your Medicare contributions to matching your Social Security contributions. The R&D with regard to Pharmaceutical companies is huge. It takes years of research then trials then the approval process. That's a chunk of change. It is also from that profit that new and improved drugs are able to help a variety of people. The profit may seem at times out of wack but it pays for all the prior failures and the time and money that cost.

I stopped taking Lipitor years ago because of muscle pain and joint pain. Stopped taking it twice with the same results, the pains stopped. However I now suffer from loss of control of my legs and balance problems. Personally I think it is because of the Lipitor I was prescribed earlier in my life. By the way, my cholesterol level has not increased in all the years since before I started the Lipitor.

What was your daily dosage? I have taken 10mg daily for years; I lift weights and never have a muscular problem.
