I've had my dealings with this plant that I once loved... but after it killed my giant maple, I want no dealings with it.... still digging up sprouts after two years!!!

But this image just caught my eye as it was creeping through this lattice!!!

Yes and under the shingles... there is male and female Wisteria... the one I got was male and of course never bloomed only tried to climb and lift my shingles !

[wisteria won’t bloom is due to too much nitrogen, not male female myth]

I apparently had a female and she dropped her seeds everywhere.... can't get rid of them, we're forever digging up new clumps!!!

I once had wisteria at one of my homes. It tried to take over the world. Now I have to deal with Japanese Tallow trees. They grow faster than Jack's beanstalk and spread like a locust plague. Good luck, Angela, with getting rid of it. Google "Wisteria" by Richard Shindell. You will love the song but still hate the plant.

Tarzan would be right at home swinging thru my Wisteria vines. Can't get rid of the stuff!

It did take over my huge maple and strangled it to death!!! Now whenever we see one popping up, out comes the shovel!!
I don't know about Japanese Tallow trees... but try living next door to someone who planted invasive bamboo!!!!!

It’s coming to get you Angela! We somehow managed to get Russian Vine growing in the garden, it twines itself around everything it touches and even when we think we have eradicated it, it pops up again!

I saw one at grew into a small tree but it was all alone and nothing to invade on. I have one that is choking my pampas grass but it is ok I want both them to die. I will just kill the winner.

Beautiful shot of a beautiful vine, Angela! Such a shame something so pretty can be so pushy! The native variety (American wisteria) isn't invasive but just as beautiful. I've seen it in the woods and at Bellingrath Gardens, but we don't have it planted in our yard.

I commiserate with you, Angela. As you know I am battling to get rid of mine as well. It is taking years.
