photoshop and content aware

hi.

i made a selection of a lighter area (the left side )and want to move it to cover a darker area(right side)...it seems to be picking up the lighting at the darker area. i will attach a picture...
i know theres more work to be done re all the other stuff with the move but wondering about the lighting issue

That's not how content aware works, if you want to copy/move one area to another, you can clone it, or use one of the move tools, content aware fills in pixels that go missing in the background! Better start reading up on how those tools function in PS!

Error on my part. I used the patch tool . Not content aware

Also check to see if your setting is on "normal" or "replacer." I always want it on replace, as on normal it tends to mix the existing pixels with the replacement pixels and the result isn't what I want - usually.

When I am removing spots, tend to use healing brush, swiping from clear area over the spot. If there are no clear areas close, will use cloning brush, but try and not use that. as sometimes an area that looks the same in values is just slightly different.
