Selling a Lens to B & H

I have been dealing with B & H Photo in NYC for literally decades. When I was trying to liquidate all my Canon equipment I had a 16-35mm F4L lens that wasn't selling this site or Craigslist. I went into B & H site, received a quote for the lens and sent the lens up to them for inspection. In fact, I sent them 2 lenses. I received notification that they received both lenses and within a week I received a check for the non-L lens. I have not received notification from B & H regarding the L lens. B & H received the lens on July 9th. I sent them a follow up email on July 23, but haven't heard anything back. My question, am I being to impatient or should I call? Thanks.

I agree that you should give them a call but remember they close early on Fridays but you probably know that.

Maybe they are going to sell it first then pay you! B&H has always been fair with me on my trade-ins.

As it turns out, I received a response to my email this morning. They said a check was mailed on July 15. I responded that I hadn't received it. They answered back and said that they would void the check and re-issue it. Love those guys. I am saving the money to buy a new Nikon Coolpix P1000, which I will buy from them. Thank you, B&H!! Also, thank you for your replies.

In the future you might let them know that you are interested in applying the money you get for the lens towards another product ( Nikon Coolpix ) quite often they will offer more money if they know it is toward buying another product from them.

Several years ago I asked that question and was told they would not offer more money, but it doesn’t,t hurt to ask.
