Problems with ON1 2018.5

I just want to get some feedback from ON1 users regarding ON1 2018.5, the latest upgrade to ON1 2018.1. I have tried the trial version of the 2018.1 and I really like it. I wanted to upgrade to the latest 2018.5 version but I read from DPreview that there seems to be a lot of bugs with this latest version, one being very slow especially with previewing a photo on Browser and Develop. Any feedback from On1 users will be greatly appreciated. Have you found ON1 2018.5 to be buggy as well? I'm using a Mac.

I downloaded it on my Mac for the 30-day trial and find painfully slow. So much so that I have just about given up.

It works fine on my 7 yr old Windows machine with with 32 gb ram, 4 gb graphics card, dual display, i7-2600K overclocked to 5 ghz, and 1 TB SATA SSD. Nothing slow or buggy about it. Faster than the previous version I just upgraded from.

You can download the trial version of 2018-5 version for 30 days even if you recently tried the trial version of 2018-1. It restarts the clock for the new version so you'll have more 30 days of the full version to see if it works for you.

I have not experienced any issues with On1 2018. Please keep in mind that DPReview is wholly owned by Amazon. DPReview is NOT an independent reviewer. Have no idea why, but Amazon may have some reason for denigrating On1.

I use it on my Windows 10 HP laptop. I have had some crashes but they were after odd things I did by mistake. I find it to be a great program. I really like the way it handles layering and effects.

Using it on my Win 10 with 32 GB RAM and SSD - and it's lightning fast. Go for the trial, and on install choose the option that lets you keep the prior version as well as the new one (not clear from your post if you purchased 2018.1). You can then later uninstall the old version after you're satisified everything works well. Also, as a bit of insurance. create a restore point prior to installation. BTW, it's a great program, although I mostly use it as a Photoshop plugin.

I purchased ON1 and occasionally experience a freeze or crash, or lack of a lens profile. Regardless, I’m still pretty much satisfied with it. That said, ON1 constantly pesters you to join their ON1 Plus program for $50 - $150 a year, which buys additional training, plugins, textures, etc. The jury is still out on whether I’ll commit long term.

I use On1 occasionally but from LR or PS , I don’t use the browser but I don’t find anything slow , as a matter fact it is pretty fast.

version 18.5 1-1 has fixed the bugs. I have no problem with any of the moduals.
