Spots in sky

I took some shots of the sky to check for dust after cleaning the sensor on my SONY A6000. I don't think I see any dust but I see these spots at smaller apertures. This is at f22. It gets better as I open it up until it isn't obviously visible at f10. Is that from the sun directly behind me? I never cleaned a sensor before. I used a Lenspen very cautiously after watching a few videos. I haven't seen the spots in pictures that were not of the open sky although I haven't given it a thorough test. I'm going on a road trip of national parks including Glacier, Yellowstone and Theodore Yellowstone starting Monday.

Did you use the 1 swipe method? It looks like residue left over from a back and forth approach.

I can see a mixture of small dark spots and larger lighter spots. I can also see a darkish line going diagonally from top right to bottom left. How clean was the Lenspen? A re-clean may be in order. And have you tried the camera's own sensor cleaning function?

You have to buy the sensor cleaning swabs for your size sensor. Then, as previously stated, one swipe in the same direction with a drop of sensor cleaning fluid is best. Then throw away that swab. They are sterile and packaged individual and are not cheap. But I can clean my own several times, verses the 100.00 the place here that is an authorized repair person for my brand of camera charges. And the stuff lasts a long time. You don't have to do it very often. (My previous boss showed me how, but it is on the internet now.)

Did you have a filter on the lens? Could need cleaning.
