Adobe Lightroom version 5 and 6 does not support Google Map any longer.
When you click on map button it gives you a message that is no longer supported.
To see your pictures location, you have to copy the GPS coordinates and then paste them in another Mapping program.
I guess it will make more people update to Lightroom CC.
That may be their desire but it certainly is not mine. The CC model is a win-win for people who need and/or can afford a continual and ongoing investment in Adobe and it generates a perpetual income for the company.
I bought PS CS 6 and Lighroom 5.1 has been upgraded to 5.7. They do more than I require and do not have monthly strings attached.
I guess the point is, neither program is supported but I am quite content with my Nikon and the PS/LR combo does and will worry about what Adobe doesn’t support if/when the situation arises. In the meantime, they can’t fuss with me and that suits me just fine.
I would say that if you had purchased PS & LR CS6 & LR 5 and Adobe did not go with the current model. You would need to do the upgrade once a year at around 130 dollars. With the current model you are updated at least once a quarter and often times more than that. You receive all of the new advancements in the program that help you as a photographer. After all those software engineers need to get paid. and the cost is almost the same as the old model... Each to their own but be aware there are cost involved in improving the technology...
