I can see that for certain people in certain situations that really would be the most beautiful sound ever.
Glad you made it home and thank you for your service.

Thanks. I was glad to serve and hopefully saved some lives. When we pulled med-evac duty we dropped off the med-evacs at the hospital and never knew the outcome after that.

The most beautiful sound for me was a loach landing 40 ft from to pick me up to take me to
the field Hosp in Dong Tam. No slicks available at the time.

A real Icon. Love the whop whop sound. Lots of fond memories from my 27 years in combat arms.

USMC 60-67. The first tour in 64-65 we had Sikorsky H 34. Ended up with the Huey in 67. My mind being what it is these days I'm pretty sure it was the H-34 in 64-65.

This old gunners mate seconds the motion. When you're soaking wet and plugging a hole in your leg with your index finger that whop-whop sound is heaven sent.
Thank you for your service!

Good possibility. I remember the Marines had H-34's at Da Nang in 64-65

Did a lot of Gun Cover for our Medivac buddies out of Quin Nhon....in fact was shot down near the An Khe pass doing gun cover for a Medivac, serious firefight...they came over to assist even with wounded in board then headed to the evac hospitals. Thanks again.
