I have full frame and crop bodies. Want to keep it small enough to travel and tour with easily.

I'm going in the Fall. Plan to take 1 camera body and 2 lenses, 16-35mm FF and 28-200mm FF.

Sounds like a great combination. I could do that too. I want to keep it simple but not skimp on quality.

The best I could take. Given the travel and shooting platforms, I'd probably, and regretfully, leave my 4x5 cameras at home. However, I'd be very amenable to taking my Hasselblad 500c with a few lenses. That along with my D800e and two lenses.

I just did this in April-May. I took a Fuji X-T20 with an 16-50, 50-230 and a 27 mm prime. Cruising up the Rhone from Marseilles to Lyon the scenery wasn't that great, other than the Nuclear Power plant south of Macron. 99% of my shooting was on shore excursions, and for that, the 16-50 was the ideal choice.

I’d take the crop body, a versatile zoom, and a quick prime. Lighter weight and less of a pain to tote.

Did you find that a tripod was a good idea for the excursions? I love my VR lenses but I sure ain't as steady as I once was.

I think I'll take my Df instead of the D850. Love my 35-105mm but I find the 28-200 to be more versatile and, actually, a tad smaller.

My suitcase was full enough, and European cities, towns and streets are just too compact to allow a tripod. A monopod might be better, but still difficult.

Taking camera gear on a cruise is no different than any other trip, I only take one camera and a decent zoom lens and no tripod, and remember you have to carry your gear everywhere.
