My 10 year old's second time at photography

I gave my 10 year old grandson my Nikon D7000 with a Nikon 70-300VR lens and told him to start shooting and this is what he got photos of. His first time with a camera was last week and this is his second try at taking pictures.

Photo @2 He got all excited when he spotted this pine needle and leaf forming an "A" and just had to take a picture
Photo #3 is a close up of an alligator winking at his. This image is not cropped but we are in a safe position. I think he is doing very well with his zooming ands using back button focus.
