Thanks for the pics. Especially the ones of the Corvairs. The Corvair took me back 55 years! My mom had a 1960 and a 1964. We lived in Maine and it was a beast in the winter.

Great photos. Many years ago I owned a black 1957 Corvette. Today, they can fetch nearly $100,000 dollars. Go figure. Should have kept it,

Why do some of them have a fire extinguisher on the ground by the front tire? Love the series.

So glad you enjoyed, FP! I had a '61 Corvair, which I added a larger exhaust to, and my wife (at that time) had a '63 Spider...with my modifications, mine was actually faster than hers, but both were fun to drive!

Good question, NMGal...best I can figure, they actually were using the extinguishers as wheel blocks...LOL

Some shows like this have the requirement that you provide an extinguisher and place it in a particular position outside the car. Pessimism rules, I guess.

Fire extinguisher was good to have, since these cars has gasoline fired heaters, known to be very dangerous. Mechanics were injured working on these more than once.

Nice series, but depressing that the cars of my youth are at an antique show.
