I'm Just Playing Around Here, but...

Hello everyone. I sent this picture in once before, but this time I have darkened the colors a little bit and played around with split toning and other things, and in the second, I created a monochrome, which I like, but the ducks seem to fade into the water a little too much... At any rate, any comments or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Ironically, the more I learn, the more I realize I don't know Jack Didley, not personally anyway, and some of you out there have been at this much longer than I have. So any comments or feedback would be welcome.

Nice shots, but the ducks fade in to the water in both shots. As a non digital software (other than phone) and someone who still wet prints, I would sudgest on the monochrome shot to pull up your contrast a tad, as it may help with the ducks. But again, not much you can do with the way the ducks blend in due to lighting.

I don't care for the scene very much. It does not lend itself to good composition. In the monochrome that distracting yellow float is minimized so that is an improvement.

I think that when I darkened it, it made the ducks harder to see. In the original, everything was brighter. As far as the monochrome, I wish I had tried a few other things instead. It was hard to make a choice. There were things I liked and didn't like about this particular variation. There are things I like about it however. Several pictures were taken of this particular image at the time, and this one I think, was with a telephoto lens, and I may have cropped the original, and I did take pictures of a more overall image. I just think in this case, not enough of the picture is showing, and it is cut off at an inappropriate place. There was an attempt to focus in on the ducks in this particular variation of the image. I may go back, look at what I have and try other versions.

Thank you
