I'm a purist myself, and to me a photograph is a silver gelatin or Pt/Pd print
made in a darkroom. But, as Dylan said many years ago, "The times they
are a changin". So is photography.

There is a niche for this type of work but it is considered graphic arts based from a photograph. Many photographs are being subjected to such treatments in PP for sale to the ad world looking for such. Personally, I really don't care for it.
