Nancy Barbato Sinatra, the first wife of Frank Sinatra, passed away yesterday, at the age of 101. Frank and Nancy met as teenagers in 1934, and were married in early 1939 in Jersey City, NJ. Frank was from neighboring Hoboken, NJ. They had 3 children together. Frank Jr, Nancy, and Tina. Frank Jr. passed away at age 72 in 2016. The two daughters are still living. Nancy and Frank were married until 1951. They divorced, and Frank married the very popular and beautiful actress, Ava Gardner in 1951. They divorced in 1957. Ava was also married to Mickey Rooney previously. Ava died young at age 67. Frank later married actress Mia Farrow in 1966. That marriage lasted only two years, ending in 1968. His last wife, Barbara Marx Sinatra, passed away at age 90 in 2017. That marriage lasted until Frank Sinatra passed away at age 82 in 1998. That marriage was his longest in years, 22 total. It is said there was no bitterness between Frank and his first wife. They communicated with one another after the divorce in 1951. Frank Sinatra was known as a great singer, actor and philanthropist, and Italian cuisine cook. Nancy Barbato Sinatra never remarried. RIP Nancy. You were married to one of the greatest entertainers of our time. Frank Sinatra.

I think more people liked Frank than disliked him. My late mother said that he was the heartthrob of many young teenage girls during WW2. He had to run for cover, when he got out of the car to do concerts. He was very particular about certain things. Especially his attire and Italian food preparation in restaurants. He always had his own table for himself and his guests, away and protected from onlookers. His late mother was a fine Italian cook, and she passed many of those Italian recipes over to her son. And Frank passed some of those Italian recipes to his first wife. Even after they divorced. Frank adored his mother. When you were around him, he always let you know who was in charge. Himself. Yes, he had an ego to match his talents.

Frank Sinatra had a great talent which I came to appreciate later in life, but I still had to learn to look past his personality.

His connection to the mob I found unAmerican and wrong. I heard the mob helped him early in his career to advance, so he owed the mob.

A listener can forget all the negatives while immersing himself in songs like "The Summer Wind." It plays from a surpassing talent.

My condolences to Nancy Barbato Sinatra's family.

While Frank certainly made sure he was the king of the "Rat Pack", in my opinion Sammy Davis was the best entertainer, had the best voice and range, and was the most likable of the group. I always felt he didn't get his due for his incredible talent.

Yes, I've heard about his connection to the Mob. I don't think that connection was throughout his entire life. Some say a character in the Godfather Movie #1, was a fictionalized Frank Sinatra? As, for Sammy Davis Jr. being a better singer than Frank, can be debated, (songs vs voice range). I can tell you this though, if it had not been for Frank Sinatra, Sammy would not have been as famous as he was the short time. Frank helped Sammy get booked in Las Vegas, when many entertaining venues wanted nothing to do with him, because of his ethnicity. It was a different Las Vegas back then.
