I guess, without knowing how the products were tested (criteria, selection, etc), I have to assume this is just based on opinion. Really makes me wonder how much the various "winning recommendations" had to pay Popular Mechanics to be considered best buys?

I see that, near the top of the article, is a link to its author. Whyn't you contact the author for that information, if you're that concerned?

Apparently, you have grossly overestimated my concern. I'm not concerned at all. I just believe that any reputable (scientifically-based) analysis would be accompanied with data. No one should have to contact the author for information. Otherwise....It ain't worth the time to read.

I just posted the article FYI - largely because of the lab it mentioned. I neither endorse not condemn the article.
