Has anyone had dealings with this store? They are selling the Canon M5 for $599 for body only. This price even beats Amazon.
Run.....run.....run away.
Recommend doing a search here for "Abes".
Don t learn the hard way. This pops up every few months. There is never a bargain with these guys. When it sounds to good to be true, that should be warning enough.
Pretend you never saw their ad.

No one deserves the stress and anxiety of dealing with Abes! Move on before you get hurt!

You could be one of the very lucky ones that have no problems, but chances are, you will regret your decision to purchase from them as they are sellers of grey market goods and people have many other issues with them. All you need to do is put Abe’s in the search box. Buyer Beware!
They are NOT authorized dealers - you may have warranty claim issue
Deal with them only if you are a masochist - a rich masochist.
OK, so if you get down this far, here is the reason you are being warned.
Abes of Maine started out as a reputable business. Then around the time of the 2008 Recession, they went into bankruptcy and were bought out. The new owners do not have the morals or customer concern of the original Abes.
Today they are a bait and switch outfit. That $600 M5 does not come with a charger or even a battery. They are extra. The camera itself is gray market and there have been many reports of manuals in other languages than English. If you have a warranty problem they won't answer their phone.
Abes of Maine is not the only bait and switch outfit out there. They are a prominent one though. The moral of the story is "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is".

Actually, from an earlier experience long before 2008, they've always been that way.
Before internet ordering was so easy, I called them to order a lens they had advertised at a great price in Popular Photography.
"oh, sorry, we are out of that lens, but we have this equally fantastic lens by ZUUMAR (or some other no-name brand) I can sell you for the same price!!"
Sleazy is as sleazy does.
I had a great experience with them in the 1990’s. They are a totally different company. Now, smile at their bait and switch and feel smug that you were wise enough to ask the question at UHH and avoid the humiliation of getting taken.
