For the first time in a long time - clear skies!

For the first time in 6 weeks we had three days of clear skies or nearly so. I can handle a few clouds.

I combined images from two systems - pic attached - for a total of 24 hours of usable exposures. Using two ASI1600MM-C cams and NB filters by Astronomiks, Ha, Sii, and Oiii - OTA's were SV70T and AT65EDQ close to 250 combined subs - 200 bias, 180 flats, and 60 darks. Life use to be pretty simple when I used a DSLR and one OTA.....but the fun was in the process.

Your beastie setup serves you so well.
Nicely shot and processed Ed.

Here is what Ed is hoping that these two scopes someday grow up to be:

Imagine what a pair of eyes look like reflecting back out into space....

No wonder ET's are staying away, http://cdn.smosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/eyes-azizansari.jpg

Skies for Stepping Beyond and I (he lives about 45 minutes away) have been bleak. We have two weeks of rain predicted - as in 70 percent daily. So those three nights have been it for close to three months. Not to mention the lows are in the mid 80's. So I just twiddle my thumbs and work on old images. I was looking at my schedule last year and it was about the same - summers here are hot and tropical we were getting ready for the eclipse.

Yep. We can't beat the weather.
It's been brutal here, too. But mostly just heat.
Next week is a new heat wave coming for us.
