I will ID (best I can) the insects with next post. This one has two Pandanus scorpions that were "pets", same shot, one with UV light. I hope these interest you. For scale, width of box shown is nine inches actual. Bill

I know all of these.
Dynastes hercules beetles, male and female.
Emperor moths
Male Dynastes again. The other is in the same genus but I had to look it up: D. tityus, I suspect.
Emperor scorpions. They will fluoresce under UV light.

Yes. To my knowledge there is only one Dynastes on E. coast. The color difference was thought to be dymorphism. Turns out it is oil???. It will disappear if washed in a solvent and soap, but returns in a while, sometimes only on one elytra(other specimens). Go figure??? Bill
