Greg Huntsinger Loc: Battle Ground WA.

In photoshop : go to Image>Adjustments>Channel Mixer , click on Monochrome box and adjust the Red,Green,Blue sliders to your liking , don't forget the Constant slider . Some times you have to use the Dodge & Burn Tool. There is moor but Im not going into that right now. This Image can also use some cropping off the top and bottom .

I did this by clicking "Convert To Gray Scale" in Adobe Camera RAW. One click, that's all. More than one way to skin a cat, right?

Yup, there's more than one way to skin a cat. This way, however, is about the worst.

Yeh, probably is. But I wonder if the cat knows the difference.

OLD real OLD photographers started with Black & White. Like Moonrise over Hernandez by Ansel Adams.

I am an OLD photographer and LOVE Black & White.

The color version is much better in my opinion. Just not enough tonal range in the black and white.

There are so many filters and choices in black and white editing settings. It is difficult to choose what is right. Perhaps it is a personal choice as to what you publish.

I have found that there are several methods of converting a color photo to black and white. I've also found that one method doesn't work ideally on every conversion. It's been a matter of matching method to the source image.
