That would be sashimi not sushi. Nice pics...

Thanks for the correction...I love sushi, never order sashimi...perhaps I should ask Mr. Osprey for a taste to see if like it?

Hats Off would make a killer of a jigsaw puzzle.

Never thought of that...but it would make a nice challenge for a long winter in front of a cozy fire.

Great series...and I absolutely loved the second one!!

Thank you, I was blown away by the purple Agapanthas with the majesty of the mountains behind. There was a yoga class takng place at the time overlooking the view...they were using lavender mats and the female instructor wore lavender tights. I took at least a dozen shots...spectacular sight...almost made me want to join the class.

Sashimi is often confused with sushi. Where sashimi is all about the raw meat it is made from, more often than not some type of tuna or other fish, sushi is more about the rice, and not all sushi dishes contain raw meat. Since many sushi dishes are made with raw fish, people identify the fish part as sushi. Take the rice away from the raw fish and you have sashimi.

Thank you for the excellent differentiation. I guess I do order sashimi ahi tuna appetizers...yum!

Yum indeed. The wife and I and our friends often go to different Asian buffet restaurants in the general area and I always start out with sushi made with cream cheese, if they have it, and sashimi. One person always makes remarks about me eating bait. I tell her to try it but that hasn't happened yet. Oh well, if she only knew what she was missing.
