Is MPB a good place to get used equipment? I am looking for a macro lense for a D810. I have also noticed that some lenses are Marco and some say Micro. Are they the same?
Macro is the standard designation of these close up lenses. Micro is Nikon's usage for their macro lenses.
Micro basically means small or tiny. These lenses enlarge these small objects.
I know nothing about MPB. Actually, I never heard of them.

They are a respected seller. I bought from them many years ago, and they're still around. That's a good sign, as I'm older than dirt.
And as to Marco? All I have to respond is "Polo!"
*(torchman310's description of the two terms is correct)

I’ve never heard of them either. What does it stand for? Anything?

They're based in Great Britain I believe, also not sure but MPB may be the initials of the founder.
Ooops, sticky fingers and sent wrong...
I did buy from them. They seem fine other reviews I read here were all good. They have a branch in NYC.
I just got a quote from them for some like new gear. On the camera they were reasonable, and on the lenses they were really low. Like $300 for a one year old $1200 lens. I decided to keep them. Of course, that did not guarantee that they actually would give me that for the gear once they saw it... I looked at what they would sell a piece for and it looked like they wanted to have a 30 margin.
Not familiar with MPB but they have good ratings.
Nikon has used the word MICRO for its macro lenses for years. Micro and macro are exactly the same term.

Better venues for buying or selling photo gear might be KEH in Georgia, B&H Photo or Adorama, both in NYC or eBay.
Gear can also be sold right here thru Ugly Hedgehog’s Member’s Buy/Sell/Trade Classifieds. /Ralph
I just got a Tokina 100mm micro this week. Bought it used for $295. Excellent shape, and an amazing camera!

MPB is a British company that has now opened offices in New York City. I have bought lens from them and have had very good experience with them.an would buy from them again.

Four words: Adorama, B&H, KEH. Period.
The equipment that I have traded for in the past has been great quality.
I have had good luck in general, but I filled out the form on Thursday to see what they would give me for an almost new Sony GM 85mm f1.4 and the number they came back with was much lower than anything I would ever take for it, so I’ll be trying to sell that elsewhere.
As I said, I have had good luck with trades in the past and I think they are worth a shot. Their gear has been great and as described. Sorry to go off on a slight rant! Lol!

After upgrading to a Canon 5D Mk IV from a Mk II, I sent the Mk II to Adorama and they offered what I thought was a low offer. Consequently I had the body returned resigning it to a paper weight. Then I heard about MPB with an excellent reputation and their online quote was $160 better than Adorama's which was acceptable to me. They now have the body for evaluation and I should know what their final offer is next week. The beauty about MPB, as well as Adorama is they pay the freight both ways so you are out nothing except packaging the item and getting it to a FedEx store. FedEx will pick it up at your door, but there is a $5.00 charge for the service.
MPB's offer was less than they are going for on ebay, but balanced out when considering shipping, sellers and PayPal fees.
