West Coast Beaches.
During my last trip to the west coast I spent some time actually on the coast. These are some of my beach shots.

I like all three. The second one stands out in my opinion and is a really nice composition.

Thank you Erich. Where composition techniques are concerned, channels work as consistently as natural framing does. I could have gone wider to get more beach, but I didn't want the island to be reduced to insignificance. And I didn't want to get down too close to the sea because islands tend to be more identifiable as islands if you can shoot them from an elevated viewpoint.
I think the way the second one creates space with a variety of textures and a good composition is great.
Your trademark processing particularly suits 1 and 2 I think RG, both of which are very attractive. Living in a coastal area, I can never have too much sand sea and rock. Do you print your favourite images?

Thanks for commenting, Dave. My "trademark processing" is usually a desperate attempt to eke something engaging out of a misty, grey raw file. Perhaps with a more professional touch I'd be able to convincingly add some sunshine (perfect for a beach shot), but I opt for the safe option, which is to enhance what circumstances gave me.
I haven't printed any of my images for ages. Apparently going through that process can show us things that we mightn't normally see, plus it's an extra incentive to keep shooting, so maybe I should print some of my favourites.
Nicely Done, especially #2.
I like the beached boats. This may not be the best composition for them, but there is great potential there.

Thanks for commenting, Gilbert. A line of sight that included the open sea or the shoreline would have been nice but it wasn't a good angle for capturing both boats. I also tried looking inland towards the shore but that wasn't ideal either. The best I could do was to include one of the boats and some background stuff. I don't know why this one came out as soft as it did. I may have zoomed and forgotten to re-focus.
